Have you ever wondered what goes on in a church board or at the Parish Council? Do you have the desire to be a part of a team that takes critical evaluations of our directions and programs to inspire Christian growth, in-reach, out-reach and education? Well, here’s your chance to get involved with making key decisions with what goes on at our church and school and be part of a strong heritage here at Zion Lutheran Church and School. All boards have openings this year, and the Congregational President, Secretary and Treasurer are also up for election.

To be a candidate for a position, you must be at least 21 years of age and a confirmed member of Zion. You may contact an Elder, Pastor Boernke, or Bryce Alexander, Chair of this year’s Nominating Committee to express your interest. With the consultation of the Elders and Pastor Boernke, your name may be added to the list of candidates. You will need to either be a Voting Member or intend to join Voters to be accepted on the list. The ballot will be approved and posted in the Church Narthex 3 weeks (April 15, 2012) before the election being held at the Annual Voter’s Assembly on May 6, 2012. Additional names may be added up to 10 days prior to elections when the ballot becomes closed. No additional names can be added to the ballot at the Annual Voter’s Assembly.

Please get on the bandwagon, tell your friends, and spread the news to join a board or become an officer of Zion Lutheran Church and School and help us continue to craft exceptional, caring and nurturing Christian programs at Zion. Stay tuned for more information in the church bulletin and next month’s newsletter.
